Purple Pioneers

One of 2 toddler rooms at Wee Care. The children in the Purple Pioneers room are 18 months to 3 years of age.

The Purple Pioneers provide an inclusive play-based emergent curriculum which is based on the needs, goals and interests of the children. Utilizing observation and actively interacting with the children the team implements invitations and provocations for the children to explore and manipulate materials.

During play the children continue to be brave, curious and resilient within their environment. They are becoming their own individuals, showing an interest in being more independent. They are learning to be kind, gentle and compassionate humans.

During this age, the children are starting to toilet-train and are continually expanding and developing their language so they can communicate more effectively with the educators, their parents and the their peers.
