Portfolios
Each child registered at Wee Care Developmental Centre receives a binder which contains samples of the growth and accomplishments of the child. On a regular basis, staff will update these portfolios with new creations, photographs and commentary that documents development.
The binders are located outside the room and parents are welcome to view them anytime. As the child transitions around the centre, this record of achievement will follow them. Upon graduation, the family has an heirloom scrapbook to take home recalling the milestones achieved.
IPP and IEP
A primary focus of the programming at Wee Care Developmental Centre is the IPP (Individual Program Plan) or IEP (Individual Education Plan) for those children requiring additional support.
The individual program is developed in areas of play, self-help, motor skills, communication, cognition and socialization. It is different for each child and is based on the needs of each child.
Parents, therapists and the staff at Wee Care will determine the goals at a formal meeting known as a Case Conference, which is held annually. In addition to the meeting, parents and the team will openly dialog regarding new goals and progress as needed.
