El Welsh

Hi everyone, I’m El, I use they/them pronouns. I graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in Child and Youth Studies in the spring of 2023. Throughout my degree I had the chance to do a practicum at Wee Care which led to working at Wee Care for the summer of 2022. I knew upon finishing my degree I wanted to return to Wee Care and was thrilled there was a teacher position available! I look forward to building relationships with the families throughout the centre. Outside of work I am often found at the rink coaching or playing ringette, or in my kitchen baking any number of creations for my small business Elm Confections. I also love spending time at home with my fiancée, our dog Onyx and our two cats Sage and Bay. 
I am a long-time resident of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In 1988, I graduated from the Nova Scotia Early Childhood Education College. I enjoy travelling, knitting and cats. I have been working at Wee Care since 2017.
